SNAPE PROMS 1 - 31 AUGUST 2009
This year, Suffolk will once again host a musical feast. During the month of August, every night there will be a performance at Snape Maltings. From rock to jazz, classical to cabaret - this is an event that will delight audiences of all ages and musical tastes.
Higlights this year include a return visit from the Monks of the Tashi Lhunpo Monastery. They will be giving workshops, creating a sand mandala, and treating us to a staged performance of music, chanting and dance. Also featured this year are the cult cabaret duo Kit and the Widow, whose ascerbic wit and musical talent are sure to get a grin on your face! The Big Chris Barber Band will guarantee to get you in the mood for some old time dance music, and Spiers and Boden (Bellowhead\'s frontment) will rock the new Britten Studio with their highland folk.

In to Suffolk, Out of Neverland
Every Saturday from May 16th to July 4th, a magical series of Peter Pan themed concerts, \'Out of Neverland\', will be coming to Suffolk. From half-past twelve to half-past one in the afternoon, there will be a chance for families and friends of all ages to indulge themselves in an exciting mixture of music, dancing, storytelling, visual art, and much more.
Exceptionally talented performers from Suffolk and beyond will be travelling to The Ogilvie Hall, previously used by British composer Benjamin Britten. The hall is based within the \'living\' Neverland, Thorpeness Meare, designed by J.M Barrie himself, creator of Peter Pan.
The acts promise to be unlike any other, with \'Peter Pan\' read aloud and Captain Hook at the piano, songs from the mermaid lagoon, \'Pirate Jazz\', and even a fashion parade.
The enchanting live performances will include music-dance trio Terpsikorie on 16 May, duetting mermaids on 23 May, established flautist Jose Zalba on 30 May, Peter Pan stories with television presenter Rosina Enwright on 6 June, jazz sea shanties from Adventure Monster on 13 June, soulful singer and cellist Ayanna Witter- Johnson on 27 June and sonic artist Chris Chong and guitar duo Canci?n rounding off the concerts on 4 July.
