Red Rose Chain celebrates 10 years of Theatre in the Forest with Shakespeare’s most magical adventure; The Winter’s Tale!

This is the story of Perdita, a princess who doesn't even know it! Left to the wild animals as a baby, she was raised by kind shepherds. Years later, her wicked father, King Leontes, is still in charge. Will she ever find out how special she really is? Can the King ever find his heart again? And are there really bears roaming around Rendlesham Forest? There's only one way to find out!

To accompany the performance there’s also a series of special events including a Teddy Bear’s Picnic (Saturday 22nd), Drama Workshops (Wednesday 12th/19th/26th) and a Director’s Talk (Thursday 27th).

Plus, if you fancy a gorgeous picnic without the hassle of organising it, we can do it for you! Whether it's a romantic evening for 2 or a party of 10, give our Box Office a call to find out more!

For further details and to book visit the website www.theatreintheforest.com or ring the Box Office on 01473 288886.

DUNWICH HEATH

Get out and enjoy the great outdoors at the National Trust’s Dunwich Heath this summer. Come and discover a world of wildlife beyond your front door and have-a-go at the wide range of nature-based activities on offer - there’s great fun to be had for all the family.

Start your journey of discovery at Dunwich Heath this August and be amazed by the abundance of wildlife that the site has to offer. On Sunday 2 August and 23 August there are two action packed activity days when there is plenty of wildlife fun guaranteed.

There will be pond pandemonium with the wardens - you’ll find all sorts of bugs and plants whilst pond dipping. Try your hand at making undersea landscape crafts, or have a go at the giant outdoor family games. Not forgetting a scavenger hunt down on the beach, face painting, nature trails, and much more. The children won’t want to leave!

Jessica Woodgate is the Community, Learning and Coastal Warden at Dunwich Heath; “Our activity days are a fantastic day out for the whole family, you'll want to come back again and again. There is so much to see, do and definitely lots of fun to be had!"

Throughout the summer there are still lots of activities to keep the children entertained. Let the children loose on the new smuggler’s themed children’s play area. Explore the site with a range of trails, alternatively pick up a tracker pack and go on your own minibeast hunt! Then drop into the SeaWatch Centre and use the telescopes to see how much wildlife you can spot along the coast, from seals, harbour porpoise and seabirds passing offshore!

There is even a children’s menu and children’s lunchboxes available in the award winning tearoom.

So, where better to head for exploring the great outdoors! Dunwich Heath’s ‘Have-A-Go Days’ take place on Sunday 2 and 23 August from 11am to 3pm. Suitable for children up to 12 years, £5 per child. Booking not necessary.
