Suffolk Brewers
Adnams Sole Bay Brewery
Standing in the heart of the historical coastal town of Southwold is the Adnams Sole Bay Brewery. Here brewing can be traced back to 1345, but it was in 1872 that brothers George and Ernest Adnams brought the brewery and began the modern history of brewing in the town. The brewery began to grow in 1902 when the Loftus brothers acquired a stake and members of both families still head the business today.

While many aspects of the brewery itself have changed over the years, the essential character of Adnams lives on. Though Adnams brew some 20 million pints a year their methods remain steeped in history and its brewers take great care, as much today as in yesteryear and with more than 80 pubs in the Adnams Estate across East Anglia, you don't need to be in Southwold to experience their range of high quality beers.
