Situated 8 miles Norh East of Clacton on the B1034. A seaside resort that focuses around it its pier. First built in 1830 and originally made of wood the pier measured 330 feet in length. It was extended in 1898 to its current length of 2,610 feet making it the second longest pier in England (the other also being located in the same county of Essex, at Southend).

The seafront gardens are colourful all year round the the beach can boast some of the finest and best sand on the east coast. The town is an early Victorian seaside resort retaining much of its charm, small narrow streets with numerous shops, restaurants and pub still thrive.

The Pier at Walton on the Naze

Well-worth a visit is The Old Lifeboat House Museum at East Terrace, the building itself dates back over 100 years and in it you will find local history as well as the history of the lifeboats of Walton, Frinton and the Sokens.

Just north of the town is The Naze which contributes to the town’s name, an extensive area offering picnic and walking areas throughout the year. Climb the Naze brick built octagonal tower (originally serving as a beacon to warn seaman of the West Rocks) today it houses an art gallery, museum and cafe and from the top serves as a great place to see the coast.
